TAKRIZ NETWORK (TAK) the tunisian civil engagement cyber movement was able to once again defeat online political censorship in Tunisia. Since 8144 ABA(*) or 2010-02-23 it is fully accessible from within Tunisia through HTTPS online connection.

TAK LAB, TAKRIZ technological laboratory was able to find a loophole in the methods of online censorship and filtering used by ATI, the Tunisian Internet Agency, that allows delivery of content from banned websites over connections through the SSL online protocol. From today, internet users in Tunisia can access TAKRIZ MAGAZINE the publication of TAKRIZ NETWORK by pointing their web browsers to HTTPS://WWW.TAKRIZ.COM. A connection on this address is of the utmost privacy and security. The SSL protocol being used is on par with the safest online payment gateways and online banking servers.

In it’s cyber battle againsy online political censorship, TAKRIZ shows once again its pioneering role in this field. Foetus the co-founder of TAKRIZ NETWORK said that "this is in fact a big victory but the cyber battle to free the Internet is not over yet". He stated that he doesn’t know for sure how long such a victory would last before ATI finds another way to censor TAKRIZ again. He also assured that TAK LAB is in permanent ebullition in order to maintain its edge on online censors and to counter any new method they would find. The Tunisian Internet Agency is a government institution under the direction of the Tunisian Department of Homeland Security, its sole role is to censor access from Tunisia to any political or civil rights information online. Sites like those of Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, DailyMotion or YouTube are currently banned in Tunisia. TAKRIZ itself is censored in Tunisia from 4662 ABA (2000-08-12).
